Ground transportation

Ground transportation is typically performed by an ambulance (short or long-distance) or for patients in life-threatening conditions by resuscitation (ICU) ambulance which is normally equipped with cardiomonitor, defibrillator, oxygen, or other ICU equipment and staffed by resuscitation- trained medical team.

Ground transportation is used for bringing a patient to a hospital, or for transferring a patient from one hospital to another (specialized or upgraded), or for transportation of a patient to the airport for further medical evacuation by commercial flight or by air ambulance to another city or country. Upon arrival of a patient to the airport of destination, GVA also arranges a ground ambulance from the airfield to the hospital.
